NW Norfolk Liberal Democrat adopt Rupert Moss-Eccardt as General Election 2017 candidate
At a well attended meeting of local members on Saturday in King's Lynn, North West Norfolk Liberal Democrats unanimously adopted Rupert Moss-Eccardt to be the party's candidate at the General Election on June 8th for that constituency.
Rupert Moss-Eccardt commented, "I am looking forward to taking the Liberal Democrat message on how to change Britain for good, to the towns and villages of North West Norfolk, arguing for an alternative to Theresa May's hard Brexit, proper funding for health and social care, for a fair voting system and to protect the pension triple-lock. I will fight for a fair deal for North West Norfolk, for decent public service provision and will be an advocate for the vulnerable members of our community."
The Rev'd Simon Wilson, Chair of West Norfolk Liberal Democrats added, "Last week's county council election results showed an increase in support for the Liberal Democrats across the Borough and the local party has increased its membership by nearly 400% since the last GE, so we approach the campaign with confidence and optimism. Rupert Moss-Eccardt has a record as a strong campaigner and would make an excellent MP for our area."
