Our local Conservative MP is apparently finding it hard to make up her mind

Our local Conservative MP Liz Truss is apparently finding it hard to make up her mind

Before the referendum, South West Norfolk MP Liz Truss was a keen supporter of Remain. That is to say, she supported the single market, the customs union, free movement of people in Europe, paying into the European budget and the role of the European Court of Justice.

Now she says that she would vote Leave if a referendum were to be held on the final deal, as we in the Liberal Democrats are proposing. In other words Liz Truss has completely changed her mind about every major aspect of British economic policy in less than 12 months.

Although I think it's a bit scary to have a senior government minister who keeps changing her mind on such matters of economic policy every few months, I respect her democratic right to do so. It would however be nice if she were to extend the same courtesy to the rest of us.

She voted Remain, now she says she supports Leave. That's OK by me. But perhaps others amongst us will change our minds the other way when we can see the real economic deal on offer and not the Leave campaign's fantasy wish-list. She should allow us the same opportunity to change our minds which she now claims for herself.
